Cheryll Mills First Lady
Serving as the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management since 2005, Cheryll A. Mills has wholeheartedly embraced her various roles at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). From an alumnus who graduated in 1981 with a degree in Elementary Education to the Assistant Director for Student Support Services to the Director of Admissions and Recruitment to her current position, she has passionately served to assist students in reaching their maximum potential in order to fulfill their dreams and aspirations.
While earning her M.Ed. in Public School Administration from then Salisbury State University, Mills taught a variety of subjects at Woodson Middle School in Crisfield, Maryland. During her ten-year tenure in Crisfield, she was very involved in the community and spearheaded a number of events and activities designed to positively impact the lives of students and their families.
An active board member (Vice President) of the Wor-Co Federal Credit, the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wilmington (Seton Center) and a partner with the Maryland Food Bank, Mills believes in providing opportunities to maximize the potential for success. What is done with the opportunity once it is provided is up to the individual.
